Niklas Astedt, who appeared at three major final tables, and Roman Romanovsky, who finished runner-up in two major events, were among those big winners. This week’s $109 Sunday Million attracted a field of 11,212 to create a $1,121,200 prize pool. The top 2,042 finishers secured at least a min-cash of $177.

For the second time in less than two months, Russia’s "Lucky_Jew_17" won the Sunday Million after more than 14 hours of play. On March 3, this player won the event for $117,222 and this weekend added another $114,039 in winnings after winning it again.

Falling just short of the winner’s circle was Sweden’s Niklas "lena900" Astedt in second place for $82,752. Meanwhile, Brazil’s Rafael "sombrero21" Roglio notched his biggest tournament cash at PokerStars after finishing in sixth place for $22,921.

Canada’s “ccyrenne” became a poker champion on April 21 when they triumphed over 265-opponents in the $20,000 Sunday Challenge, turning their $109 investment into a cool $5,676.

Twenty-seven players reached the money places and shared the $26,400 prize pool. $528 was the least any of the nine finalists could win, the sum awarded to the first casualty under the spotlights “junkarbo14” of Sweden.

“rickybarbosa” was the next player to fall and the last player not to collect a four-figure prize. Russia’s Artem “veeea” Vezhenkov, a three-time PokerStars Sunday Million champion, fell in seventh-place for $1,056 beofre being joined on the rail by “YSoSerious7” of the Ukraine, Bahrain’s “GGhrayeb” and “luishi64” who hails from Brazil.

This left three players in the hunt for the top prize. Those three became two with the elimination of the United Kingdom’s “HomoDeus”, a finish worth $3,102.

Heads-up saw ccyrenne and Russia’s “Lucky_Frutti” lock horns heads-up and it was the former who emerged victorious. Lucky_Frutti had to console themself with the $4,092 runner-up prize, leaving ccyrenne to collect the $5,676 top prize and the glory.
